Philosophy of Education
My educational philosophy is that every child can learn. In light of Howard Gardner's theory of multiple intelligences, lessons can be presented within reach of the child. Each child is unique in their abilities and ways they receive information. I believe students learn best by doing and having their interests and abilities considered. Creating, problem solving and having opportunities to be inventive are an important part of education.
Teachers should educate the whole child. I believe students should be taught how to think, not what to think. Integrating other disciplines helps accomplish this task. Art plays a vital role in all of this. I have a passion for learning and teaching. My goal is to equip students with skills to be life-long learners, confident in communicating with others.
